The best stories in the world... ARE THOSE UNTOLD.

Title: Croquis
Type: Manga
Status: Completed
Mangaka: Takanaga Hinako

Okay, I am not sure of what to say with the plot because what I recommend in this manga volume is not the main story but Chapters 5 and 7 entitled 'OF MY FIRST LOVE'.

OF MY FIRST LOVE is a story that I admire every time I read it. Every time I would read it, I would just cry. I was like "WHY? WHY? HUHUHUH!"

Now, I won't tell you the plot 'cause it may sound predictable but the story... augh... I WOULD READ IT A THOUSAND TIMES IF I COULD.
Have you ever had that feeling when your heart twinges every time you hear a story? I am not trying to be corny here but that's what I felt every time I read this story.

This manga is very recommended for those suckers in love stories out there, but for homephobes and yaoi-haters, just don't read it.

Some people just don't understand that SOME LOVE STORIES ARE BEST TOLD YAOI STYLE. But it's not like I can force that idea unto them.

But anyway, I would literally hunt you if you say you hated this story...
I am kidding, of course...

AM I? *evil grin*

Anyway, here's a preview:

Bad Romance... Creepy and Dark

Title: Le Portrait de Petit Cossette
Type: Manga/OVA (Manga preferably)
Status: Completed
Author: Aniplex
Artist:

Plot: Eiri works an antique shop and often draws a picture of a girl. One day, a painting which was often sold to costumers because the costumers who buys it often meets their end in a gruesome way. That painting is the a picture of a girl, the girl who Eiri dreams and draws. She is later, revealed as Cossette. Then Cossette's spirit begs Eiri to save her... from what? Read it. :)

Okay, Le portrait is a really dark romance. Basically, the theme is quite profound but the resolution is very tragic. But overall, it is a very good manga, with a amazing storyline and a sad but great ending. I recommend it for those who likes tragedy, horror and drama... and gore. :)

Wrong Justice = DEATH

Title: Death Note
Type: Anime/Manga/Live Action (Anime is recommended)
Status: Completed
Author: Tsugumi Ohba
Mangaka: Takeshi Obata

Plot; Light Yagami is tired of the world, despite of being the top student and being intelligent. One day, he discovered a notebook fall from the sky called 'Death Note' and with this note, you can kill anyone in a 40 second interval. Light became 'Kira' and  started to kill every criminal in his way in order to create the 'new world without evil' and with him being the 'new god'. However, the police doesn't want him to go on because it is not 'true justice' so they ask a very good detective to find the person of 'Kira' called 'L'.

Death Note. I discovered this anime way, way back. But unfortunately I didn't watch it because the title looks like a horror movie and I was kinda a wimp back then, scared of horror stuff. But I was wrong. Despite the low contrast and the lack of bright vivid colours, Death Note is the anime wherein you could enjoy both anime and semi-realistic art. The story line is very logical but in a fantasy setting. You can enjoy best of both worlds.

Let me tell you something, this is not your usual anime. To be honest, I got bored of the anime because of the lack of vivid and bright rainbow-coloured world. However, when I started to throw my usual likes, you can enjoy this anime because the art is very realistic and seems like your watching a live drama or something. IT'S A VERY EXCELLENT AND GENIUS ANIME. THIS IS PROBABLY WHAT YOU CALL A MASTERPIECE.

P.S. Should I do a Yuri genre next or a Mecha one? :3 But Idon't know any good yuri genre so I'm sorry, Yuri fans. Suggestions, anyone?

United as... One? Yeah right.

Those who doesn't know this anime... Well, you'd better!

Title: Hetalia
Type: Anime
Status: Ongoing
Mangaka; Himaruya Hidekaz (Hima-papa!!! <3)

Plot: It's really hard to understand the plot if you know nothing about the world history. The main character is Italy (Yes, the human form of the country Italy). And his adventures with other counties during the past, present and future.

Hetalia. Throw out you thick dusty world history books. You're going to learn History in this anime in a fun way, along bishounen and bishoujo who represents each country. Though, one episode is just 5 minutes (yeah, I know, too short) It's really genius how Hima-papa shows the stereotypical cultures of each country. and it's quite accurate!

But I recommend you NOT to watch this if you're easily offended when some stereotypical remarks are given. :)

Yes, an anime ain't normal without some LOOOVVVEEE in it.

Just kidding! My fave is USxUK! Too sweet! :) Nyeheheh!
P.S. Sorry Hima-papa, we fujoshis/fudanshis can't avoid it! :)

The First One

The first one! Yeas, you heard that right! The first YAOI anime series I have ever watched.
I was disgusted, yes,(at first anyway)  but it led me to a whole new world!

Title: Gravitation
Type: Anime
Status: Completed
Mangaka: Maki Murakami

Plot: Shindo Shuuichi is the vocalist of the band Bad Luck. While walking down the street, the lyrics he had written for his new song was blown by the wind (literally) and was picked up by Yuki Eiri, a popular writer and claimed that Shuuichi has 'zero talent' in writing. After that, Shuuichi persued Yuki to take back what he said and discovered a lot about Yuki. Something developed and.... You need to watch it.

Gravitation... Hmmmm, what can I say. The songs, I warn you, they give you LSS (Last Song Syndrome). Blind Game Again is stuck in my head right now! :'(
For all those who wants to start in YAOI genre, I recommend you to start with this. It is very mild and is focused more on the careers of the characters unlike Junjou Romantica and the like. There are very few scenes, like 5-7 takes of kissing scenes, but that should be mild enough for starters. For beginners, it might gross you out, but it's okay, it's an initial reaction. (Not being prejudiced but i started out like that and it gained my interest and became my life! :P)

Anyway, Gravitation is my super recommeded anime because... I'm loss for words. You need to watch it to understand what I mean. :)

Two of a Kind UPDATE

I didn't know there was an OVA for HoriMiya. :)
Link: YOUTUBE

HOWEVER, I strongly advice you not to watch the OVA because if you didn't read the manga beforehand, the OVA was quite confusing.

My opinion is quite biased but I think the OVA was quite half-assed and it was kinda rushed. The original manga art, I adored it but the OVA just ruined it. ARGH!

But it's your own choice is you want to watch it or not. But I strongly recommend to read the manga first befor watching the OVA or not watch the OVA at all.

Two of a Kind

Title: Horimiya
Type: Manga
Status: On-going
Author: Hero
Illustrator: Hagiwara Daisuke

Plot:
Basically, Hori is just a normal teenager girl who is sooo popular in school. No one knows about her secret in which, after school, she changes from a popular girl to a mother-like figure who does groceries, cooking and mother-like stuff. Miyamura is a just a gloomy teenager guy but after school, he takes off his glasses and he becomes a super bishie guy with a lot of tattoos. So, both of them discovers each other secrets and started hang out and will something develop? :) You need to read to find out!

Okay, I don't usually read shoujo manga, I watch shoujo anime though. But this one really caught my attention. Yes, the plot is cliche but really, it's a wonderful, heartwarming story of friendship turning into love. Sometimes there's denial and rivalry and such but, I tell you this...
It's definitely worth your time. :)

Oh and, it's really surprising how it's made by male authors. So surprising!

P.S. Today was the first day for London Comic Con and augh, it was tiring!!! I never knew that expos could be like this... and oh, it's only my second time to go to an expo in London. :)

Till next time
